Illinois River
Silver Carp Strips
$14 – $24
Silver carp, harvested from the Illinois River, where they've disrupted native fish populations for decades. High in protein. High in omega-3s. Good for your dog. Better for the river.
Asian carp were introduced to control algae in aquaculture ponds in the 1970s. They escaped into open waterways during flooding events and have spread through the Mississippi River basin ever since — outcompeting native species, disrupting spawning beds, and depleting phytoplankton that native fish depend on. Commercial fisheries targeting them as part of state removal programs are one of the few effective tools for controlling their spread. Every bag of Fallow Silver Carp Strips is sourced directly from those programs.
